Parliamentarian injects K15m into football tourney

Dedza Central East  parliamentarian Joshua Malango has injected K15 million into a football tournament in his constituency.

After distributing footballs 28 participating teams at Nanze Primary School in the area of Traditional Authority Kaphuka, Malango said the aim of the competition that will roar into action on April 29 is to uplift football standards in his fold.

“We have talented football players that fail to get the necessary exposure due to lack of competitive matches. This is the beginning of a new era as we will be inviting technical officials of elite league teams, who upon watching our  our games, will spot some of our talents,” he said, adding the semi-finalists will receive football uniforms.

The parliamentarian explained that he will soon launch a netball trophy and an inter-dominational choir competition.

One of the football tournament organisers James Chisale said the competition will help to expose talent and keep the youth physically fit.
